Hello bloggers!

I decided to start a blog so I could share my fitness journey and everything in between. This is my first post and my first blog, so bare with me.  I love all things related to the fit lifestyle, fashion, and beauty! Most importantly I'm 16 weeks out from my first competition.   I'm lucky enough to have a great coach and a wonderful support system!

Now let's rewind to a couple months back:

I was constantly running (cardio) and doing Bikram yoga and was not seeing any results which  lead me to complain about my body image. I felt that I had no control over what was happening  to my body and constantly felt lethargic (I have now realized that it was all the junk I was consuming).  I've always been thin and never had to worry about what I ate let alone how much I exercised but  now that I'm getting older I've started to pack on the lbs.  I no longer felt confident in anything I wore and was always on the look out for the next outfit that would make me look "skinny" . I took it upon myself to make a HUGE change in my life so  I asked my boyfriend to show me the ropes in the "daunting" weight room at my local gym.   My first week of training he went out and bought me a couple of magazines to get my mind in the right place. I was leafing through both Oxygen Magazine and Muscle & Fitness Hers. One specific "Success Story" in Oxygen caught my eye and really lit a fire under my A**.  It was titled "I love lifting weights" and it featured  Kelsey Byers.  I felt like I could relate to her based on her before and after story. It gave me the boost I needed to get started.  As soon as I got home from work that night  I researched  more about Kelsey's story, local NPC bikini Competitions and most importantly started my search for a trainer/coach since I had no idea how to get started.  Meanwhile my boyfriend was still teaching me the ropes at the gym and I was rapidly falling in love with lifting! After searching and talking to a couple of trainers I finally found  the right fit!  The week before I started my journey I went on a wonderful vacation with some friends.  A  couple of drinks, an excess of food and no exercise led me to be at my heaviest of 143 lbs. eeeeeeeeeek! Obviously the vacation alone didn't get me to this point but it was a good way to end that old lifestyle and start a new one.

Ready..Set..Change!

I wanted to leave you with some motivation!
